About
Gym Jockey is built by one independent developer, in Belgium. No team, no investors, no growth department.
It started with a music problem: at the gym, the song is always wrong — too much of it while you rest, and never the right part when you’re under the bar. The fix — headphones first, an app you listen to instead of look at — turned out to pull everything else along with it: if the app is in your ears, it can tell you what to load; if it can speak, your notes can finally arrive at the moment they matter instead of dying in a text field; if a note can be a voice, the voice can be your coach’s. [PLACEHOLDER: origin story — final personal telling pending]
The tracking side has a simpler explanation: it’s the tracker I always wanted — set-level trendlines, real equipment modeling, context that lines up against the numbers.
Somewhere along the way a coach heard the recorded-voice feature and said, roughly: “you mean I can have my voice in my clients’ ears?” — and the coaching tier stopped being optional.
The philosophy is to build the solid base first and add from there.
