Privacy

The short version: we couldn't sell your data even if we wanted to, because we never have it.

No servers, on purpose

Gym Jockey runs on your device and syncs through your own iCloud account. There are no proprietary servers — not “we promise not to look,” but there is nothing to look at. Your training history is inaccessible to the developer, structurally.

This website is the same way: no cookies, no analytics, no trackers, no third-party requests of any kind. The page you’re reading loads from one place and phones home to no one.

When you share a clip with the community, Gym Jockey shares a song reference — which track, which seconds — never audio, and never anything about your training.

The formal policy below is the complete, binding version of the above.

Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 13, 2026

GymJockey is designed so that your training data belongs to you. This policy explains what the app stores, where it goes, and what we can and cannot see.

The short version

What the app stores

Workout data. Exercises, routines, sets, reps, loads, effort ratings, timers, session notes, and voice memos you record. This is stored on your device and, if iCloud is enabled, synced through your private iCloud (CloudKit) database, which is controlled by your Apple Account and inaccessible to us.

Heart rate. If you use an Apple Watch or a Bluetooth heart-rate sensor with GymJockey, heart-rate readings are used during your session and stored with your workout data as described above.

Sharing you control

Coach and client sharing. If you connect with a coach or a client inside the app, the routines, templates, memos, and session data you choose to share are transferred between you via iCloud. Nothing is shared until you initiate it.

Community clips. If you submit a clip to the community library, it becomes visible to other GymJockey users, along with the country it was submitted from. Do not submit anything you want to keep private.

What we don’t do

Apple services

Sync and sharing are built on Apple’s iCloud/CloudKit, and health data integration uses Apple’s frameworks on your device. Apple’s own privacy policy governs those services: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/.

Deleting your data

Deleting data in the app removes it from your device and your iCloud sync. Deleting the app removes all local data; iCloud data can be managed from your device’s iCloud settings.

Changes to this policy

If the policy changes, the update will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
