Roadmap

Gym Jockey is in beta and new builds ship regularly. Everything elsewhere on this site already works; nothing on this page does yet.

More languages

The app speaks ten languages today (the list is in the FAQ). It was built to be multilingual from the start, so more will be added over time. Which ones, and in what order, is still open.

Spotify

Blocked for now: Spotify limits apps like this one to a handful of users unless they’re run by a large company. If that changes, it will be the first thing looked at. See the FAQ.

More importers

Hevy import ships today, and importers for other training apps will follow. Each will be named here when it ships.

An autonomous Apple Watch app, under consideration

The idea is to leave the phone in the locker and run the whole workout from the wrist, with the voice, the logging, the timers and the memos. The engine would carry over; the obstacle is music. Apple Music can’t be driven from the Watch alone, so an autonomous version would mean a workout without clips or playlist, with only the voice and your own recordings. Whether that would still be Gym Jockey, or only a good logger on the wrist, is the open question. So I’m gauging interest before building it: would you use a version without music? Tell me at support@gymjockey.com, and see the beta page for the other things I’m asking.

Android

Not planned yet. Gym Jockey is built closely on Apple’s iCloud, Watch and Apple Music, so a port would be a rebuild, and it would hit the same wall as the Watch: no Apple Music, so no clips and no playlist. It’s a gamble rather than an impossibility, and the same question of interest applies.

What’s not coming

[OWNER DECISION: whether to publish this section — it’s a strong statement and a permanent commitment]

There will be no social feed, no likes, no AI coach generating advice, and no badges, levels or confetti. The one number the app keeps for motivation is your streak, and you can leave a session out of it. None of these are coming later either; they aren’t what this app is for.
